The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has suspended three members of its State Working Committee, citing allegations of poor leadership, financial mismanagement, and unilateral decision-making.

Publicity Secretary of the party, Jamilu Muhammad, told journalists in Birnin Kebbi that the suspended officials are State Chairman, Engr. Sufiyanu Bala, Deputy Chairman, Junaidu Muhammed Mudi, and Secretary, Hawwa’u Muhammed. They have been replaced by Abdulrazaq Abubakar Isah Iko as Interim Chairman and Adamu Aliyu as Secretary.

Muhammad accused the ousted leaders of deviating from the party’s principles, making critical decisions without consultation, and failing to account for party funds. He also alleged that their actions created divisions within the party and stalled its progress.

The ADC further rejected what it described as the hijack of the party by “Abuja-based politicians” and condemned early political campaigns under its name, warning that such actions violate the Electoral Act.

The party urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to act against the alleged violations, while advising members of the public not to engage with the suspended executives. Muhammad affirmed that all other state members remain active and should work with the interim leadership to strengthen the party’s structure in Kebbi.
