President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of two members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Aminu Sa’ad Ungogo and Aliyu Sarki Daneji, who died in separate incidents within an hour on Wednesday.
Ungogo and Daneji represented the Ungogo and Kano Municipal constituencies respectively in the state legislature.
This was contained in a condolence message signed on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.
President Tinubu described the deaths as sad, tragic and painful, noting that the lawmakers’ demise has created a significant void in the representation of their constituencies.
According to the President, the late legislators were committed public servants whose loss will be deeply felt by their families, constituents and the state at large.
“I offer my condolences to their families and constituents, as well as the government and people of Kano State,” Tinubu said.
He also commiserated with the leadership and members of the Kano State House of Assembly over the loss of their colleagues.
“I also commiserate with the presiding officers and all members of the Kano State House of Assembly over the demise of their respected colleagues,” he added.
President Tinubu prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed lawmakers and asked God to grant their families the strength to bear the loss.
