The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has commended the Nigeria Police Force on the occasion of the 2026 National Police Day.

In a goodwill message issued on Tuesday, the Governor joined Nigerians in celebrating the dedication of the Force, while offering prayers for renewed vigor and wisdom in the ongoing effort to tackle internal security challenges across the country.

Governor Mutfwang praised the resilience and unwavering commitment demonstrated by officers and personnel in maintaining public safety, often in the face of significant operational risks.

He specifically lauded the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, noting that the Force has remained steadfast in its core mandate of upholding law and order, investigating crimes, and protecting the lives and property of citizens.

The Governor expressed the deep appreciation of the Plateau State Government for the pivotal role the police have played in addressing violent attacks and criminal activities within the state.

He credited their sacrifices with significantly strengthening the local security framework and sustaining the relative peace currently enjoyed by residents.

According to the Governor, the strategic contributions of the police have been instrumental in restoring stability to communities that were previously under threat.

Beyond traditional enforcement, the Governor highlighted the importance of community policing and the Force’s role in fostering trust between the citizenry and law enforcement.

He acknowledged their multifaceted duties, which range from emergency response and traffic management to critical collaboration with other security agencies to enhance national security.

Governor Mutfwang concluded his message by wishing the leadership and personnel of the Force renewed strength and divine protection.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the police in discharging their constitutional responsibilities to ensure a more secure and united nation.
