Governor Abiodun presents sword gift to Tinubu

Governor Dapo Abiodun has presented a ceremonial sword to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to persist in his administration’s fight against crime and corruption across the country.

The governor made the presentation during a thank-you visit to President Tinubu on Monday, following the recent commissioning of the Gateway International Airport, Gateway Airlines, and other key projects within Ogun State.

In a statement shared via his social media handles on Tuesday, Governor Abiodun explained that the sword was presented to the President in honor of his title, the Jagaban, which translates to leader of warriors.

He charged the President to maintain his momentum in the war against crime, criminality, and corruption, particularly as he prepares for a second-term re-election bid.

Abiodun further assured the President that Ogun State remains fully committed to supporting his re-election.

The governor wrote: “Yesterday, I had the honor and privilege to visit and thank the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, for his historic visit to Ogun State to commission the Gateway International Airport and Gateway Airlines, welcome our first cargo airline, and launch other landmark projects.”

“I presented him with a ceremonial sword in his esteemed capacity as the Jagaban (leader of warriors/conquerors), urging him to continue his war on crime, criminality, and corruption. As he embarks on his second-term re-election campaign, I assured him that Ogun State stands solidly behind him.”
