The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Tinubu, Ministers of Defence and the security agencies over the successful rescue of the 24 kidnapped students of the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School Maga in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris.
According to the statement, the special effort, commitment and dedication of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle in effectively coordinating the rescue and safe return of all the abducted students are highly commendable.
Idris said, “This sterling effort is not the first time in the service of Matawalle as the Minister of State for Defence, which further demonstrated and justified his capability in running the office.
“The rescue of all the female students in good and sound condition in less than a week from President Bola Tinubu’s marching order on the minister to relocate to Kebbi l for the onerous duty has put to shame and silenced all the detractors.
“We want to say a big kudos to all the security agencies and their ever-ready personnel who professionally rescued the victims and urge them to maintain the tempo until the whole nation is safe.
“Matawalle’s approach to insecurity, which he deployed while serving as the Governor of Zamfara, has again been exemplified in coordinating the successful rescue of the abducted Maga school children.
“The party also commends President Bola Tinubu for putting the lives of his people first by cancelling all his scheduled engagements to monitor the security situation in the country.”
