A National Vice Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator Suleiman Nazif Gamawa, has declared that the party is fully prepared to defeat both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections.

Gamawa, speaking with journalists on Monday in Bauchi, said the ADC had gained public confidence and now represents the only political platform capable of easing the hardship Nigerians are facing.

He dismissed concerns about the party not having any sitting governor, insisting that such a disadvantage would not affect its chances. Gamawa pointed to former President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 victory as an example of winning without the backing of state governors.

“The people have already believed that a new political movement is the option, so ADC is the saviour. We are giving them one blow,” he said confidently.

The ADC chieftain maintained that the party was not battling internal divisions, urging politicians who feel sidelined or betrayed in their current parties to join the ADC ahead of 2027.

According to him, the party will keep its nomination forms affordable to encourage honest and capable Nigerians to participate.

“We are not going to be like them. We will give a chance to every well-meaning Nigerian,” he said.

Gamawa, who has over three decades in politics and once served as Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, expressed strong optimism that the ADC leadership would reposition the party for victory.

He assured that the ADC would govern with fairness and prioritise the masses if elected.

Calling on citizens to take part in the electoral process, he urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing voting as both a right and a responsibility. He warned that refusing to vote wisely would only prolong Nigeria’s struggle with poor leadership.

Gamawa also criticised the current political landscape, saying a handful of elites were controlling the system. He added that the ADC was committed to mentoring young Nigerians who aspire to take leadership roles.

Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally registered as a member of the ADC in Adamawa State, strengthening the party’s profile ahead of the 2027 elections. His registration on Monday was accompanied by celebrations from supporters, after which he confirmed the move on X with the message: “It’s official. – AA”.
