…as Ataoja hails infrastructure projects
The Imole Campaign Council have accused the previous administration of Former Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of treating the development of Osogbo with total indifference.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi on Sunday, the campaign council welcomed the endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke by the Ataoja of Osogboland, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun stating that the monarch’s commendation validates the visible transformation of the state capital.
The council asserted that the governor’s strides in infrastructural modernization have set a new standard for governance in Osun State, reinforcing the necessity of his re-election to ensure the continuity of ongoing legacy projects.
The campaign council further alleged that toxic politics defined the Oyetola era leading to the alleged deliberate abandonment of critical projects inherited from his predecessor.
The council highlighted the East West Bypass, popularly known as Ona Baba Ona, and the Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila Odo-Kwara boundary road as essential routes that were left to rot, thereby undermining the social and economic growth of the capital city for years.
The statement further emphasized that Governor Adeleke has since rectified these failures by completing and commissioning the East West Bypass and the 10.5km stretch of the Osogbo-Ikirun road.
The council noted that while the remaining portion leading to the Kwara State boundary is still under construction, the governor has already flagged off the second phase to ensure its eventual completion.
Looking ahead, the Imole Campaign Council assured the Ataoja and the residents of Osogbo that the administration remains committed to a rapid urban renewal agenda.
This includes the remodeling of the state stadium and the proposed dualization of the Old Garage to Ilesa Garage road.
The council urged Osun electorates to reject any attempts to return the state to what it described as a painful past of neglect and stalled development, maintaining that the current investment in infrastructure is the only viable path toward a prosperous future for all indigenes.
