Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has named a newly completed specialist hospital after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in recognition of his leadership, dedication to national development, and commitment to the health sector.
President Tinubu, who was in Kaduna to commission strategic development projects, formally unveiled the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital on Thursday. The state-of-the-art facility comprises nine dedicated wings, including maternal and child health, radiology and imaging, intensive care, and special care units.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Sani revealed that the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority had granted approval for the establishment of a cancer treatment and nuclear medicine centre within the hospital premises.
He, however, appealed to President Tinubu for federal support to actualise the critical health infrastructure.
“That’s the only component we are yet to complete. We are seeking Mr President’s intervention to help us finish this vital aspect of the facility,” Governor Sani said.
In his remarks, President Tinubu commended the Kaduna governor for his visionary leadership and commitment to human development, particularly in the area of public health.
“This is the product of thoughtful, people-oriented leadership. Only a leader with foresight and genuine care for his people can deliver such a legacy project. I am proud of what you have done,” the President said.
He assured the state government of federal government intervention to complete the cancer centre, describing the project as one with long-term national value.
“We will support this initiative. Our intervention will not be in vain,” Tinubu stated.
President Tinubu arrived in Kaduna to a grand reception led by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin; and the Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Governors Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Monday Okpebholo of Edo, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara.
