The organizing committee of the ‘Summit of the Progressives’ has announced a new date for its high-profile event commemorating a decade of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governance at the national level.
The summit, originally scheduled for December, will now take place on January 27, 2026.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Brand and Media Committee, Bashir Ahmad, explained that the rescheduling was necessitated by “prevailing circumstances.”
He noted that the new date was chosen to ensure a more fitting and inclusive gathering of party leaders, stakeholders, and the broader progressive family.
Organized by the Progressives Forum in collaboration with The Bola Tinubu Legacy Conference, The Progressives Rights Group, and The Buhari New Media Centre, the summit is designed to be a reflective and forward-looking platform.
According to Ahmad, the event will undertake a comprehensive review of the milestones, achievements, reforms, and developmental strides recorded since the APC assumed national leadership in 2015.
Additionally, it will serve as a strategic forum to articulate a renewed progressive vision for the future.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a co-founder and national leader of the party, is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honour, underscoring the significance of the event in the context of Nigeria’s democratic evolution.
The summit promises a robust itinerary featuring keynote addresses on the evolution and impact of progressive governance across major sectors.
Ahmad highlighted that the event will include sectoral panel discussions covering critical areas such as economic transformation, national security, social investment, energy transition, infrastructure development, governance reforms, and political renewal.
The programme will also feature legacy documentary presentations capturing the APC’s rise to power, its signature policy interventions, and landmark governance moments since 2015.
