Police to arrest escaped bisexual man after mob attacked partner in Osun
The Osun State Police Command has pledged relentless efforts to find and arrest an Osun-based family man identified as Sokunbi Adewale Akeem who has been on the run after evidence of his involvement in same sex affair with his male partner Kareem Nurudeen got exposed to a group of youths in Osun state.
According to a statement issued on Saturday, by the command's spokesperson SP Adeoye Adeola, various incriminating pictures and videos were recovered from Kareem's phone which is a clear indication that the two men are practising homosexuality together.
Adeoye revealed that the photographic evidence retrieved on the phone are very provocative which instigated a mob attack on Kareem by youths in the Osogbo metropolis.

approximately 2:30 pm,
officers from Divisional Headquarters, Dugbe Osogbo in collaboration
with local vigilantes,
intervened in a chaos instigated by angry youths in a mall in Osogbo after series of provocative pictures and videos of two men having sexual intercourse were discovered in a phone belonging to one Kareem Nurudeen who brought the phone to an engineer for repair. Undoubtedly, homosexuality is a criminal offence in Nigeria this however prompted the mob to attack the suspect Kareem Nurudeen and inflicted severe injuries on him before the arrival of the police while his suspected partner Sokunbi Akeem is yet to be apprehended" the statement read.
In a bid to arrest Sokunbi who is currently at large, the police with the support of local vigilantes and community volunteers have invaded the home of the suspect in Owode-Ede but unobtainable.
A testimony from a neigbour to Sokunbi Mrs Liyasu revelaed that Sokunbi and Kareem have records of long term involvement in bisexual activities even as married men. The neigbour expressed disdain about the awareness of Sokunbi's wife in her husband's same-sex affair.
"Adewale and his friend Nurudeen were suspected to be having a bromance for long. But I am more disappointed in Mrs Sokunbi, AK's wife who have been covering up for her husband and would not let us speak out" Mrs Liyasu testified.
The PPRO addressed the situation informing the media that anybody aiding and abetting a criminal is equally a criminal. He assured the youths and community leaders to maintain calmness and desist from mob justice. Adeoye advised the youths not to put laws into their hands but rather support the police in their investigations till the suspects are found and arrested.
Even though the whereabouts of the Sokunbi's remain unknown up till this moment the police vowed to comb every nook and cranny of the country to ensure the couple is arrested and brought to Justice.
"The Sokunbi's can run but cannot hide" says SP Adeoye Adeola. "The police is tirelessly working together with other security agencies to ensure justice is served. "We cannot close our eyes while such dangerous man hides somewhere within the country to perpetrate his criminal sexual acts" he added.
