Osun 2026: Gov.Adeleke orders Police to arrest perpetrators of attacks on Accord

By Ismail Azeez
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the State Police Command to arrest documented thugs allegedly associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The directive comes amid fresh attacks on Accord Party assets and public properties across Osogbo, with the Governor warning against a situation where the public might resort to self-help.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the Governor urged the State Police Commissioner to stop the apparent shielding of these individuals and act decisively to protect public infrastructure.
While commending a detachment of policemen for repelling an attempt to destroy statues at the Abere roundabout, the Governor noted that law enforcement must go beyond reactive measures. He specifically called for the immediate arrest of the group allegedly led by Asiri Eniba.
“I hereby direct the Commissioner of Police to immediately effect the arrest of Asiri Eniba and his gangs who are terrorizing the state. They move around in Sienna buses, Hilux jeeps, and motorcycles, shooting sporadically. The police know them, and the State Command should do the needful,” the Governor stated.
Governor Adeleke expressed concern that these political criminals have now shifted their focus to public property.
He cautioned security agencies to prevent a scenario where untamed thugs might target the State Secretariat or other government buildings.
“I call on all security agencies to rise to this urgent task of enforcing law and order and preventing anarchy. The police authorities must not wait for the public to resort to self-help before taking potent action,” the Governor warned.
