The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship consensus candidate for Borno State, Mustapha Gubio, has successfully cleared the party’s screening exercise ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial election.
The screening was conducted by the APC Screening Committee at the Kaduna State Liaison Office in Abuja.
The session was chaired by the party’s National Deputy Chairman (South), alongside other prominent committee members.
Gubio’s successful clearance marks a pivotal milestone in his bid to represent the APC in the Borno governorship race.
Party stakeholders and supporters who accompanied the candidate described the process as smooth and transparent, expressing strong confidence in his leadership capabilities and extensive administrative experience.
Supporters noted that Gubio’s candidacy represents a commitment to the continuity of ongoing developmental initiatives and the consolidation of progress achieved under the current Borno State administration.
The consensus candidate was accompanied to the screening venue by several high-ranking political figures, including Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Bukar Talba, and Yuguda Vungas Saleh, as well as a large contingent of party loyalists.
Political observers suggest that this development has significantly strengthened the APC’s position and bolstered its preparations for the state’s governorship contest.
