First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has donated N1 billion and relief materials to victims of recent violent attacks in Benue State through her NGO, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

Speaking during a visit to Makurdi on Tuesday, Mrs Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the killings in communities like Yelwata and Dauda, which have left families displaced and properties destroyed. She commiserated with Governor Hyacinth Alia and urged residents to embrace peace and reconciliation.

Highlighting Benue’s key role in national food security, the First Lady encouraged victims to rebuild and return to their livelihoods. She called on traditional and religious leaders to support peacebuilding efforts across the state.

Governor Alia, in his response, thanked Mrs Tinubu for her continued show of compassion and support for the people of Benue and Nigeria at large.
