Lagos registers 10,000 trucks ahead of e-call-up system rollout

The Lagos State Government has confirmed that over 10,000 trucks have been registered on its electronic call-up system ahead of the official rollout scheduled for August 1 along the Lekki-Epe corridor.

According to Mrs. Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation, the new e-call-up platform is designed to regulate truck movements, ease traffic congestion, and eliminate illegal parking along major transport routes.

She noted that months of planning, stakeholder engagement, and sensitisation have gone into preparing for the system’s deployment. As part of the preparations, the state has fully equipped seven designated truck parks and carried out familiarisation exercises across all approved sites in collaboration with e-call-up technologies.

To encourage participation, the ministry reduced the park usage fee from ₦12,500 to ₦10,000 and offered free system testing and registration guidance for truck operators.

“The goal is to enhance road safety, protect infrastructure, and improve traffic flow and business operations within the corridor,” Ogunlola said, adding that more trucks are still registering on the platform.

She urged transport operators and other stakeholders to complete their registration and cooperate with enforcement agencies to ensure the success of the initiative, which is part of the state’s broader push towards a smarter and more efficient transportation system.
