Lagos closes submission portal for Eko schools arts and crafts competition 2.0

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has officially closed the submission portal for the second edition of the Eko Schools Arts and Crafts Competition, expressing appreciation to all registered participants for their entries.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, it commended students across for their remarkable creativity, talent and enthusiasm displayed through the competition.
According to the Ministry, the volume and quality of submissions received reflect the rich cultural heritage of Lagos and the immense artistic potential of the younger generation noting that participants showcased impressive craftsmanship and artistic expression, further highlighting the importance of nurturing creativity among students.
“The Ministry is overwhelmed by the creativity, talent and enthusiasm shown by students across Lagos State. Your submissions reflect the rich cultural heritage and artistic potential of the next generation,” the statement read.
The Ministry further disclosed that the competition has now entered the adjudication stage, during which submitted entries will be carefully assessed by judges adding that shortlisted participants would be contacted in due course, while winners of the competition would be announced at a later date.
The Ministry also thanked all participants, schools and stakeholders for contributing to the success of the initiative, describing the 2026 edition as a major success while reaffirming its commitment to promoting arts, culture and creativity, the Ministry stated that initiatives such as the Eko Schools Arts and Crafts Competition remain vital in discovering and supporting young talents across the state.
The competition is part of ongoing efforts by the to strengthen cultural awareness and encourage artistic excellence among students under the #AGreaterLagosRising agenda.
