‎The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has organised a safety sensitisation programme aimed at strengthening workplace safety awareness and emergency preparedness among its staff.

‎The one-day training, held in collaboration with the Lagos State Safety Commission, took place on Wednesday at the Ministry’s conference room and was attended by management and staff.

‎Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, represented by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Taoreed Dosunmu, emphasised the need for a strong safety culture in the workplace.

‎She noted that safety should be treated as a daily responsibility, stressing that proactive measures are essential for preventing accidents, protecting lives, and enhancing productivity.

‎The Permanent Secretary also highlighted the importance of individual responsibility, urging staff to play active roles in maintaining a safe and secure working environment.

‎In her presentation, the Director of Safety Training and Sensitisation at the Commission, Oluwatosin Sobola, outlined key safety practices and emergency response strategies, identifying critical emergency response agencies in Lagos, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, explaining their roles and the importance of contacting the appropriate agency during emergencies.
