The Lagos State House of Assembly has announced a change in its administrative leadership, naming a new Clerk following the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing office holder.
Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, disclosed during plenary on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, that Olalekan Onafeko has completed his term, paving the way for the appointment of Adenike Osinowo as his successor.
Obasa noted that the transition is part of routine administrative processes aimed at maintaining continuity and efficiency within the legislative arm.
During the same session, lawmakers also approved key appointments to the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission.
Latifat Ogbara was confirmed as Chairman of the commission, while Remi Bello was approved as a member.
Members of the Assembly described the appointments as strategic, expressing confidence in the appointees’ capacity to strengthen institutional processes and uphold professionalism within the Assembly’s administrative structure.
They emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in managing the affairs of the legislature, particularly at a time of increasing political activity.
Observers say the swift transition reflects efforts by the Assembly leadership to ensure stability and continuity in its operations as preparations for the next legislative cycle gather momentum.
The development also comes amid heightened political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the Assembly expected to play a key role in legislative and policy direction within the state.
