The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Host Communities and Member representing Kaduna South Federal Constituency, Hon. Hussaini Abdulkarim Ahmed, has formally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Announcing the switch on Tuesday, Ahmed expressed appreciation to the PDP for what he described as a “long and rewarding political journey,” acknowledging that the platform offered him opportunities that enriched his political career.

He explained that his decision was informed by wide consultations with constituents and guided by the need to align more closely with their aspirations and developmental priorities.

“As a representative of my people, it is my duty to listen to their voices, yearnings and aspirations,” Ahmed said. “After wide consultations and careful consideration, I have decided to formally resign my membership of the PDP and officially join the APC.”

While pledging continued respect for the PDP and its leadership, the lawmaker stressed that the move was necessary to strengthen effective representation and advance the developmental needs of Kaduna South Federal Constituency.

Ahmed assured his supporters of unwavering commitment to delivering dividends of democracy through meaningful projects and robust legislative engagement at the National Assembly.

“I look forward to working hand in hand with all stakeholders for the progress of Kaduna South and our nation at large,” he added.

His defection adds to the rising number of PDP lawmakers who have recently crossed over to the APC further reshaping the political dynamics ahead of the next electoral cycle.
