Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has signed the N901 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, formally authorising the state’s spending plan for the new fiscal year.
The signing followed the passage of the budget by the Jigawa State House of Assembly, completing the legislative process required for its implementation.
The approved budget, which covers expenditure for both the state government and the 27 local government areas, totals N901 billion, reflecting the administration’s focus on inclusive development and grassroots governance.
Describing the appropriation as a “budget for the people of Jigawa State,” Governor Namadi commended members of the House of Assembly for their dedication and timely consideration of the estimates, noting that their cooperation made the budget’s passage possible.
The governor also expressed appreciation to civil servants across ministries, departments and agencies for providing critical data and inputs that shaped the budget, particularly information gathered from citizens based on their priority needs.
Namadi praised officials involved in collating public demands, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to supporting their work and improving staff welfare.
He further commended senior aides in the education and health sectors for their dedication to duty, stressing that these sectors remain central to the government’s development agenda.
The governor assured residents that the 2026 budget would be fully implemented, adding that his administration remained committed to delivering tangible benefits across all sectors of the state economy.
