The Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government, Omo’ba Adeola Alimot Adetoro, has signed the ₦6.85 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, describing it as a people-oriented budget aimed at driving inclusive development at the grassroots.
The budget, tagged “The Budget of the People: Focused and Development Driven,” is designed to prioritise residents’ welfare while accelerating socio-economic and infrastructural growth across the local government area.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Adetoro said the 2026 Appropriation Law reflects her administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and effective service delivery.
According to her, key priority areas captured in the budget include infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, education, environmental sanitation, youth empowerment and social welfare programmes.
“This 2026 budget is people-focused and development-driven. It is structured to address the real needs of our communities and deliver tangible benefits that will improve the quality of life of our residents,” she said.
The council chairman also commended the legislative arm of the local government for its cooperation and the timely passage of the appropriation bill, noting that sustained collaboration between the executive and legislature remains crucial to achieving meaningful development.
With the signing of the ₦6.85 billion budget into law, the Eti-Osa Local Government is expected to commence full implementation of projects and programmes aimed at strengthening service delivery and enhancing the overall well-being of residents in 2026.
