Following the interview of former Governor Ayodele Fayose on Channels Television where he openly canvassed for Biodun Oyebanji of the APC, the Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Hon. Dare Adeleke, has called on the two-time governor to quickly use the exit door as he is no longer relevant in the party.

Hon. Adeleke said it’s high time Ayo Fayose stopped what he describes as childish political antics by his continuous shameful conduct and brazen betrayal of the Peoples Democratic Party that made him.

He said: “Watching Ayo Fayose on Seun Okinbaloye’s Politics Today on Channels Television Friday evening was like witnessing the delusional dance of an unstable masquerade in a marketplace of absurdity.

“Fayose, unsteady and incoherent, rambled aimlessly, making a complete nuisance of himself as he tried to convince viewers he wasn’t a full-blown traitor to the party that made him. If guilt had a smell, Fayose’s performance would have stunk up the homes of viewers across the globe.

“Credit must go to the host, Seun Okinbaloye, for skillfully cornering Fayose and forcing him to stew in his own duplicity. One can only assume Fayose paid for the hour-long show to advertise his betrayal of the PDP – what a colossal waste of money it turned out to be for him and his sponsors.”

Why has Fayose refused to leave the same party he repeatedly described as a “carcass” and “dead entity”? Okinbaloye, a thorough professional, kept pressing that question, pushing Fayose into a shameful corner. Eventually, he admitted he was a bitter, disgruntled man, one who betrayed his own party simply because he didn’t get what he wanted,” he noted.

Honourable Adeleke said the PDP is no longer comfortable with Fayose’s anti-party speech and actions, stressing that if it were to be the military era, he would have been court-martialled a long time ago.

“If political parties operated like the military, Fayose would have been court-martialled long ago, hanging in disgrace for his chronic betrayal, lack of decorum, and shameless self-aggrandizement. Instead, Nigerians were subjected to the spectacle of his TV tirade, one marked by delusion, desperation, and disgrace.

He, however, described the planned defection of Senator Biodun Olujimi and former Deputy Governor Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka as expected, citing their long-time fraternisation with the APC.

“They have been collecting monthly allowances from the APC and are now planning to hide under the ADC, a party of no consequence. Good riddance to bad rubbish,” he added.
