Aiyedatiwa approves appointment of 32 Permanent Secretaries

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the confirmation and appointment of 32 senior civil servants to the rank of Permanent Secretary.

This significant administrative overhaul, announced on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, is part of a broader effort to strengthen the state’s civil service and ensure the seamless execution of government policies.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries include a diverse mix of professionals such as Mrs. Tayo Ogundare, Tope Lebile (mni), Engr. Akinluyi Omotola, and Dr. Akindele Ige, among others.

These appointments, which take effect retroactively from February 1, 2026, cover various sectors of the civil service and include experienced hands in engineering, town planning, and medicine.

The Governor also approved the confirmation of Olusola Sunday Ajayi as Statistician-General and Dr. Charles Tunde Ojuolape as Auditor-General for Local Governments, the latter pending final clearance from the Ondo State House of Assembly.

This wave of appointments is seen as a strategic move by the Aiyedatiwa administration to fill leadership vacuums within various ministries and agencies.

According to the official statement, the swearing-in ceremony for the 32 new Permanent Secretaries and the statutory heads will be conducted on a date to be announced shortly.

The Governor’s move signals a commitment to administrative stability and rewarding merit within the state’s workforce as he continues to consolidate his development agenda.
