Aisha Yesufu declares for Senate, defects to NDC

Activist, Aisha Yesufu has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress, where she intends to contest the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat in 2027. 

Her transition follows the recent exit of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the ADC, a move she described as essential to maintaining her alignment with Obi’s leadership and his vision for a functional Nigeria.

Yesufu emphasized that her political journey remains rooted in her commitment to Obi’s leadership. 

She noted that while her time with the ADC provided invaluable experience through various committee roles, the current political climate requires a shift to the NDC to better represent the aspirations of Nigerians seeking systemic change.
