Senate Minority Whip defects from ADC to NDC

The Senate Minority Whip, Tony Nwoye, has defected from the African Democratic Congress to the Nigerian Democratic Congress.

Neoye’s defection was snnounced by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio during Wednesday’s plenary session.

In a formal letter read on the Senate floor, Nwoye attributed his departure to a deepening internal crisis within the ADC.

He noted that the party has been significantly undermined by persistent divisions and a series of litigations at the Federal High Court.

According to Nwoye, these legal disputes and the resulting court judgments have fractured the party’s cohesion and compromised its overall stability.

Nwoye stated that the decision to join the NDC became necessary as the turmoil within his former party had made it impossible for the organization to function effectively.
