The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has clarified that it has no plans to conduct state or local government congresses at this time.
The clarification comes in response to a publication that attributed directives to hold such congresses to the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark.
In a statement jointly signed by Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Kogi State ADC Chairman and Chairman of the ADC Chairmen’s Forum, and Hon. Kennedy Odion, Edo State ADC Chairman and Secretary of the Chairmen’s Forum, the party confirmed that the alleged directive did not originate from Senator Mark or the National Working Committee (NWC).
The statement emphasized that the publication is “illegal, invalid, and of no effect whatsoever” and advised all party members, stakeholders, and the public to disregard it entirely.
The ADC also reaffirmed its loyalty to the Senator David Mark-led leadership and reiterated its commitment to ensuring the party’s success in upcoming elections, including the 2027 general elections.
