Former Labour Party chieftain, Mr Kenneth Okonkwo, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using intimidation and state-backed interference to destabilize opposition activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, Okonkwo alleged that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) had suffered several coordinated attacks while holding meetings in Kaduna, Lagos, and Ekiti States.

He claimed that the disruptions were carried out by thugs allegedly operating under the supervision of security operatives loyal to the ruling party.

According to him, such actions violate the spirit of the Electoral Act, which guarantees fair political participation and equal protection for all parties.

He accused the APC of “weaponising” security institutions to silence dissenting voices and frustrate opposition efforts.

Okonkwo said: “The ADC is under pressure because the APC is using every possible tactic to intimidate and scatter the plans of the opposition. But we are undeterred. We are reorganising, and we will take back power through lawful means.”

The actor-turned-politician expressed confidence that the ADC would form Nigeria’s next government, describing the APC as a party on the verge of collapse.

He said, “The ruling party is already imploding. Most of these so-called endorsements are nothing more than the desperate antics of political sycophants clinging to power.”

Okonkwo maintained that Nigerians were growing weary of economic hardship, insecurity, and political manipulation, stressing that the ADC represents a credible alternative capable of restoring public trust and national stability.
