Yobe varsity appoints Prof Bukar Jamri as Acting VC

The Governing Council of Yobe State University has appointed Professor Bukar Jamri as the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Malam Garba Ahmadu Girgir as the Acting Registrar.

This was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by Hajia Uwani Zainab Mamuda, the university’s Director of Information.

The statement revealed that the appointments were validated by Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha Goniri, Esq., Chairman of the Yobe State University Governing Council, following a special meeting of the Council.

Professor Jamri will assume the role of Acting Vice-Chancellor on February 13, 2025, upon the completion of the current Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura’s tenure.

Malam Garba Ahmadu Girgir will immediately take on the responsibilities of Acting Registrar.

The statement added that these appointments are aimed at ensuring the continued efficient and smooth operation of the university during this transitional period.
