Professor Ogunsola, who made history as the first female Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, expressed her pride in the outstanding academic achievements of the graduates.
She said that among the first-class achievers, the university’s Department of Mass Communication stood out with 18 all-female first-class graduates.
At the ceremony, first degrees and diplomas were conferred on graduands from five faculties: Education, Social Sciences, Arts, Environmental Sciences, and Sciences.

Also, she mentioned the launch of the Green Air Initiative, which introduced eight electric buses to facilitate campus transportation for students and staff.
Another remarkable achievement was the establishment of the MED-AFRICA GMP Laboratory, West Africa’s first state-of-the-art facility dedicated to enhancing research.
She also noted the inauguration of the Africa Centre of Excellence for Drug Research, Herbal Medicine Development, and Regulatory Science, a World Bank-funded project aimed at developing indigenous plants for medicinal purposes.
“UNILAG continues to make significant strides in academic excellence, infrastructure, and research, and these accomplishments further solidify our position as a leader in higher education,” Ogunsola added
