Woman accuses father of years of sexual abuse, kidnapping

A woman, Akinbusola Opeyemi, has alleged that she fled her family home after enduring years of sexual abuse, physical assault and kidnapping by her father, Akinbusola Ojo Ebenezer, whom she accused of attempting to use her for ritual purposes linked to the Ogboni group.

In a personal account made available to journalists, Opeyemi claimed that her father repeatedly raped and physically abused her from childhood. She further alleged that he once held her against her will for several days.

She also claimed that her father intended to use her for ritual purposes in a bid to secure a leadership position within the Ogboni group.

According to her, repeated attempts to seek protection from the police and members of her community were unsuccessful, forcing her to flee for her safety.

Speaking about her ordeal, Opeyemi said:

“I ran away from home because my father wanted to sacrifice me. He has raped and beaten me since I was very young. I don’t want to die in silence anymore.”

She further alleged that her mother had informed her that her elder sister, Mary Dolapo, was also abused by their father years ago and has remained missing ever since.

Opeyemi said she decided to speak publicly about her experience in the hope of obtaining protection and justice.

As of the time of filing this report, the allegations had not been independently verified, and there had been no official response from the accused or law enforcement authorities.

Efforts to obtain comments from the police were unsuccessful as of press time.
