…dismisses allegation of not working with Adeleke
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated that it is solidly working for President Tinubu’s re-election.
This is as the Party dismissed allegations that its leaders are not cooperating with Governor Ademola Adeleke in efforts to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, describing the claims as false and misplaced.
The APC, in a statement on Wednesday signed by its chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, criticized a Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke, Muniru Adebayo Raji, over comments he reportedly made during a radio interview in Osogbo on Monday.
Lawal accused Raji of spreading misinformation by alleging that APC leaders in the state were not cooperating with Adeleke on the campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.
He challenged the governor’s aide to provide evidence that Adeleke had invited APC leaders to a meeting on the presidential campaign and that the invitation had been rejected.
The party stated that it remains committed to Tinubu’s electoral victory in the forthcoming presidential election, stressing that it will not treat the contest with levity.
According to the statement, “We are not unaware of the fact that the electoral victory of President Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 election is a victory for all the members and supporters of our party, which is the reason we cannot handle the election with levity.”
“President Tinubu, as the presidential candidate of our party, is also the national leader of the party under whose refuge we have been expressing our satisfaction with his numerous reforms that have been yielding positive results across the length and breadth of this country.”
“It is quite unfortunate that one Muniru Adebayo Raji, a non-cabinet rank Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, went off track in a radio interview monitored in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Monday, spewing falsehoods and disinformation without an iota of decorum against our party and our leaders, falsely accusing them of not cooperating with Governor Adeleke in the collective efforts for the campaign for the re-election of President Tinubu.”
“Must Raji engage in spreading falsehoods against the Osun APC and its leaders about the arrangements for the election in order to secure the attention of his boss for his reappointment, as he would be relieved of his job any moment from now based on the imminent dissolution of the Adeleke cabinet?”
“The statement by Raji that the APC leaders in the state should be held responsible if the 1.5 million projected votes for President Tinubu are not realized is not only misplaced but a mere statement advanced without deep thinking.”
“The claim by Raji that his principal has started campaigning for the re-election of President Tinubu in the towns, villages, and hamlets across the state is not only false but a classical example of disinformation and misinformation, as there has not been any public place where Governor Adeleke was sighted campaigning for the re-election of Asiwaju Tinubu since after his last appearance during the campaign committee inauguration in Abuja last week.”
“The re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our project, and we, as a party, are working assiduously, ready and fully prepared to make any concession, no matter how distasteful, to achieve a victory for our presidential candidate and other national and state House of Assembly candidates who will be featuring in the elections.”
“No one can claim to love one’s father more than his children do; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our father, whose political victory in the forthcoming presidential election is our topmost priority in the State of the Virtuous.”
