US inducts Nigerian air chief into honor roll

The Department of the Air Force at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, has inducted Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Aneke, into its prestigious International Honor Roll (IHR) Class of 2026.

The formal induction took place on April 10, 2026, honoring 16 Air Chiefs and two Chief Master Sergeant equivalents who previously graduated from the Air War College.

Aneke, an alumnus of the 2016 Air War College program (Seminar 7), was recognized for rising to the highest level of military leadership within the Nigerian Air Force.

The induction program included high-level institutional visits to the Alabama Supreme Court, the Air University Library, and the Enlisted Heritage Museum.

The honorees were also hosted at the Governor’s Mansion, highlighting the strategic importance of international military alliances.

Air Marshal Aneke was accompanied by the National President of the Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA), Mrs. Ngozi Aneke, and Nigeria’s Defence Attaché.

The ceremony’s highlight was the presentation of the International Alumni certificate by Lieutenant General Trulley, honoring Aneke’s leadership and contributions to global air power.

This induction is a major milestone for the Nigerian Air Force, reinforcing its international standing and its commitment to excellence in professional military education and global defense cooperation.
