Gateway Air begins flights to Abuja, Kano, Calabar

Ogun State-owned airline, Gateway Air, has announced a significant expansion of its domestic flight operations as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing national connectivity.

In a statement released over the weekend by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the airline revealed a new schedule covering several major Nigerian cities.

Starting Monday, April 13, 2026, Gateway Air will commence scheduled flight operations connecting the Iperu hub to key destinations across the country. The new routes include direct service from Iperu to Abuja and Kano, alongside expanded service from Abuja to Port Harcourt, Calabar, and Jos.

These routes are designed to offer passengers more reliable and convenient travel options between the southwest and the northern and southern regions of Nigeria.

The airline has scheduled these one-way flights to operate four days a week, specifically on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. To encourage early adoption and support regional accessibility, Gateway Air has introduced competitive economy fares starting as low as ₦100,000.

This pricing strategy aims to deliver efficient and reliable air travel while supporting economic growth by facilitating easier movement for business and leisure travelers alike.

Management emphasizes that this development marks a significant milestone in Ogun State's aviation sector, focusing on safe, efficient, and customer-centric services.
