UniCal warns students against fake JAMB regularisation directive

The University of Calabar (UniCal) has warned students against a false social media publication urging them to undertake fresh Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) regularisation and indemnity procedures.

Mr Effiong Eyo, the university’s Public Relations Officer, gave the warning in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Calabar.

Eyo described the publication, attributed to one Offiong Okon, as false, unverified and mischievous, urging students to disregard the information.

He said the university had not authorised any directive requiring students to undertake fresh JAMB regularisation or indemnity processes.

According to him, students should not repeat the process simply because previously submitted forms bear the name of the former Vice-Chancellor.”

He also clarified that unsigned previously submitted forms did not constitute grounds for students to undertake a fresh regularisation process.

The PRO advised students affected by admission or JAMB regularisation issues to seek clarification from appropriate university authorities before taking any action.

“I urge students to rely on official JAMB channels and recognised university platforms for accurate information concerning regularisation and indemnity matters.

“Our students should stop acting on unofficial circulars, social media posts, messages or other unverified communications relating to the process,” he added.

He further warned students against making payments or complying with deadlines contained in unauthorised communications without first verifying their authenticity.

Eyo also warned individuals seeking to drive traffic to their Facebook and other social media pages against using the name of the university of Calabar without authorisation.
