Kwara Youth Groups commend Tinubu for creation of 9 Division of Nigerian Army

Two youth groups in Kwara have commended President Bola Tinubu for the creation of  9 Division of the Nigerian Army, with headquarters in Ilorin.

Aliyu Muhammad, Publicity Secretary of the Arewa Youth Assembly, and Ibrahim Musa, Speaker, Coalition of Kwara Youth Organisations, gave the commendation in separate remarks at an event to celebrate the establishment of the division in Ilorin on Monday.

Muhammad described the creation of the division as a historic development and a strategic step toward strengthening security in Kwara and neighbouring states.

He said that the initiative would enhance command and control, strengthen border security, protect critical national infrastructure and ensure faster military response to emerging security threats.

According to him, the establishment of the division will give residents greater confidence, enable farmers to access their farms without fear and allow children to attend schools in safer environments.

Muhammad also commended the military leadership for its efforts toward improving national security, saying the Nigerian Army should be supported through useful intelligence and goodwill from citizens.

He urged Nigerians to see security as a collective responsibility and support security agencies in the discharge of their duties.

Similarly, Musa, who spoke on behalf of the Coalition of Kwara Youth Organisations, described the creation of the 9 Division as a welcome development which would address security challenges in Kwara and neighbouring states.

He said yhat the youth of Kwara were grateful to Tinubu for responding to the security concerns of the people through the creation of the division.

Musa also commended the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Staff for their strategic vision and commitment to improving the nation’s security architecture.

He congratulated the General Officer Commanding 9 Division, Maj.-Gen. Yakubu Yahaya, urging him to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and justify the confidence reposed in him.

The coalition, Musa said, not only viewed the military formation as a strategic security move, but also as an opportunity for economic development and job creation in the state.

He pledged the coalition’s support and cooperation with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, while commending security personnel for their sacrifices in protecting the country.
