President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the death of veteran sports administrator, Ibrahim Galadima, describing it as a major loss to Nigerian football and national development.

Galadima, who died on Saturday at 78, was a towering figure in sports administration, serving as President of the defunct Nigeria Football Association between 2002 and 2006.

In a statement, the President praised the Kano-born administrator’s enduring impact on the game, noting his contributions to both grassroots and elite football development across Kano State and beyond.

Beyond football, Galadima was also the Galadiman Fagge, a respected community leader known for his service and influence.

Tinubu extended condolences to his family, the people of Kano State, and the wider sports community, saying Galadima’s legacy will remain a lasting part of Nigeria’s football history.
