Tinubu hails NRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji on birthday

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Dr Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), on the occasion of his birthday, commending his leadership and contributions to national revenue growth.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Adedeji’s stewardship of the 83-year-old revenue agency, noting his introduction of innovative ideas, automation of systems, adoption of global best practices, and continuous upskilling of staff.
President Tinubu described the NRS Chairman as a visionary and charismatic leader who has played a key role in restructuring and aligning Nigeria’s revenue profile for sustainable economic growth.
“I salute the NRS Chairman for his visionary and charismatic dedication in restructuring, aligning and managing the revenue profile of the country,” the President said.
According to the statement, Adedeji recorded a historic milestone by meeting national budget revenue targets in the third quarter of 2025, a development the President said helped stimulate the economy and promote prosperity.
Tinubu also highlighted Adedeji’s instrumental role in the adoption of the National Single Window, a federal digital platform designed to streamline import and export processes, enhance transparency, and reduce cargo clearance time from 21 days to one week.
Dr Adedeji previously served as a senior management staff member at Procter & Gamble, Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State, and Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council, where he established the National Sugar Institute.
He was also Special Adviser to the President on Revenue before his appointment as FIRS Chairman in September 2023.
President Tinubu prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, and good health for the NRS Chairman as he continues to serve the nation.
