A sudden violent event that brings about great loss and destruction of lives and properties by the dreaded Fulani herdsmen in a peaceful town of Umuezeala -Ama, Ihemamba-Ano Local Govt Area, Imo State. It was the worst tragedy ever to befall the community on that fateful Nov 20th, 2017, when the community youth group were on a peaceful protest over the destruction of their farmlands, rape, senseless killings of the members of the community by these Islamic invaders, their activity had caused unbearable rise of orphans, fatherless children, and widows in the community.
The community seeks timely intervention from the government and the security agents to help control the rampaging invaders was an unresponsive act. However, the community youth decided to seek for a solution to avert the atrocities done by these broad day foes, but the real tragedy of the whole case is the Imo State government whose primary function is to protect life and property of its citizens spent over 3 weeks peddling wicked lies of name calling the community youth… a dissent or IPOB members, thereby compelled the Joint Military Task Force (JMTF) to engaged in a ferocious hunt for these innocent youth executives. A handful of the youth group were arrested, beaten, murdered and jailed, again some went missing since 2017/18 respectively.
One person out of many of the missing youth, according to the eye witness account who craved for anonymity, is their financial secretary Onyemerekwe Okechukwu, who lost so much during the massive onslaught, a well stocked fashion store was looted and burnt down and his mother and sister lives were caught short by these merciless herders.
Consequently, Okechukwu was declared WANTED by the authorities, this last straw prompted the community leaders to demand justice for the young man considering his massive losses and immense contribution towards youth development in Umuezeala-Ama town. Justice for Okechukwu now!!!
