Chairman of the Oodua Investment Company Limited, Bimbo Ashiru, has paid heartfelt tributes to Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari and the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, describing them as towering figures whose lives reflected integrity, service, and truth.

In a condolence statement, Ashiru described Buhari as a resilient leader whose devotion to national unity remained steadfast throughout his military and civilian leadership.

“President Buhari was a statesman whose life was defined by an unyielding dedication to the service of our great nation,” Ashiru said. “From his military career to his tenure as a democratically elected president, he exemplified discipline, patriotism, and resilience.”

He added that Buhari’s legacy would continue to inspire generations of Nigerians to pursue development anchored on selflessness and integrity.

Buhari, who passed away on July 13 at a London medical facility, served as Nigeria’s military head of state from 1983 to 1985 and later as a two-term democratic president from 2015 to 2023.

Ashiru also eulogised Oba Adetona, who died the same day at 91, calling him a mentor and father figure who upheld truth, justice, and tradition throughout his 64-year reign.

“Personally, I have lost a father figure, a mentor, and an inspiration,” he said. “His encouragement, belief in fairness, and commitment to the growth of Ijebuland will always remain with me.”

He praised the Awujale’s courage and moral clarity, noting that the monarch’s voice of truth left a lasting mark on Nigeria’s traditional leadership.

Ashiru conveyed his sympathies to the royal family, the Ijebu traditional council, and all indigenes of Ijebuland, calling on them to preserve the legacy of the revered king.

Both Buhari and Adetona are remembered as influential leaders whose impact spanned governance, tradition, and moral leadership.
