LUKE 7 VS.  1 – 10 KJV

Beloved, in part 1 of this message, we mentioned some of the good testimonies about the Centurion. In part 2 of the same message, we shall mention and explain the remaining good testimonies of this wonderful personality, which are as stated below:

HE WORKED FOR GOD WITH A CLEAN HEART

The Centurion worked for God without any form of eye-service as he single-handedly built a synagogue for his nation and his effort was acknowledged by the elders of the Jews, even in the presence of Jesus Christ ( Luke 7 vs. 4 & 5)  He also ensured that all the resources at his disposal, his time, effort,  financial resources, human resources and his little knowledge about Jesus Christ were used to win  souls for God’s kingdom. Above all,  he showed  love like that of Christ to every one around him.

HE LEFT  A GOOD LEGACY  FOR US TO FOLLOW

This soldier again made sure that he left a good legacy which he had received ( sound doctrine of Jesus Christ), which centers on repentance from sin and love, for everyone of us to follow as stated in the scripture (2 John 1 vs. 9 – 11). Even though he was not among the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, he still complied with His instruction as regards the propagation of the gospel (Mark 16 vs. 15 – 16). He did not allow anyone to preach any other message to him apart from the teachings and sound doctrines of Christ which guarantees peace all the time. He was a real vessel of honour to the Almighty God, his nation, and to humanity. Although he did not perform any miracle when he was alive like John the Baptist, he tried to give a good account of Jesus Christ, the saviour of the whole world, to everyone in order to win more souls for Him during his lifetime and after his death as John did ( John 10 vs. 41 – 42). What a wonderful soul winning mind!

HE CREATED THE RIGHT ARTMOSPHERE NEEDED FOR  HIS DESIRED MIRACLE

He exhibited great faith ( Luke 7. vs. 9 ) which is the fundamental requirement for anyone who wants to receive a miracle  from the Lord  when his servant was sick and the expected miracle did not elude him. Even though his servant was at the point of death, his faith in Jesus Christ was unshakeable and total. His conduct and words during the period of his servant’s challenges did not hinder the desired miracle from taking place. It takes faith as small as a mustard seed to believe all things are possible and to live a triumphant life all the time (Luke 17 vs. 6).

HE ENCOURAGED BELIEVERS TO REMAIN FOCUSED ON JESUS CHRIST ALL THE TIME

This great soldier in his wisdom encouraged believers in words and in deed to remain focused on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12 vs. 2), in whatever situation we find ourselves in. He exhibited this by telling the elders of the Jews and his friends the right person to consult and seek assistance from on behalf of his sick servant, Jesus Christ, during his trial period (Luke 7 vs. 3, 6). He also encouraged his household, friends, nation and the whole world  to do likewise. Beloved, count it all joy when you are fortunate to meet  people like the Centurion who preach the undiluted gospel of  Jesus Christ to you, in your house, office, in the bus or in the place of worship. This is a rare opportunity in this present days where iniquity and sin abound, and where the  preaching of heresy is  the order of the day. The Centurion, as soon as he heard about Jesus Christ accepted Him into his life as his personal lord and Saviour and did not depart from His sound doctrines which he had received when he was alive. His faith in Him was so strong in words and in deed.  This soldier took the right step by not delaying his salvation hour. You also can emulate him now as tomorrow may be too late. As soon as you have done this, kindly complement your effort by attending a bible believing church nearest to you

Remain blessed.
