Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has denied backing any of the 28 aspirants vying to succeed him in the 2027 governorship election, insisting that speculation about his support for particular candidates is unfounded.

Speaking in Lafia on Thursday while hosting members of the Forum of Former Local Government Council Chairmen and Councillors, Sule said his decision on whom to support would be based solely on the candidate’s capacity to sustain and build on his administration’s development achievements.

“At one time, they said I was supporting the Accountant General, then later they said it was Wadada, and at another point, Faisal. If you see people running back and forth like this, you know there is no truth in it,” the governor said.

He stressed that Nasarawa’s vast potential must be harnessed, noting that his administration has laid a foundation for improved internal revenue generation and created an enabling environment for investors.

Sule assured that his government would continue to implement policies and programmes with direct impact on the lives of residents.

Leaders of the visiting forums commended the governor for his leadership and pledged continued loyalty and support for his administration.
