The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has declared its full support for Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye, dismissing recent calls for her removal as baseless and politically motivated.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, described Afuye as a loyal and competent partner to Governor Biodun Oyebanji. He stressed that there was no valid reason to seek her removal, adding that such action could only be initiated by the State House of Assembly and must follow due process.

Dipe addressed concerns over Afuye’s academic qualifications, noting that the Nigerian Constitution requires only a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent for the positions of governor or deputy governor. He further explained that removal from office is only permissible on grounds of gross misconduct, as defined by the Constitution.

Urging residents to ignore the calls for her ouster, Dipe said Afuye remains an asset to the administration, complementing the governor effectively in the day-to-day running of the state
