Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has called on voters in Anambra South Senatorial District to rally behind Chief Emmanuel Nwachukwu, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in Saturday’s by-election.

Speaking at campaign rallies in Nnewi and Aguata, alongside his deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and other party leaders, Soludo described Nwachukwu as a leader grounded in community values and development. He urged eligible voters to turn out in large numbers, noting that Nnewi South and Ihiala have never produced a senator for the district.

Referencing the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s 2019 election victory under the Young Progressives Party (YPP) — which he described as a faction of APGA — Soludo said the party is now united and poised to reclaim the seat. He also assured that APGA is committed to a transparent and credible election.

APGA state chairman, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, called for unity among Nnewi North and Aguata residents to ensure victory, while Aguata LGA chairman, Dr Chibueze Oforbuike, pledged 100 per cent support for the party.

In his remarks, Nwachukwu thanked party leaders and supporters, promising to prioritise the needs of the people if elected. A minute of silence was observed in honour of the late Senator Ubah during the rally.
