Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has declared that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will secure victory across all 5,720 polling units in the forthcoming governorship election.
Speaking at a campaign rally held in Awka, the state capital, on Monday, the Governor described Anambra as the political stronghold of APGA, noting that the party remains deeply rooted in every community and household in the state.
According to him, “Because we’re not taking any vote for granted and we want to earn every vote, we are campaigning as if we are the underdog to unknown opponents. We are working very hard, we are in all the markets, we are in all the streets, we are everywhere campaigning vigorously, house to house, door to door.”
In a statement signed by the Governor, he reiterated that Anambra remains a fortress for APGA and that his campaign team is determined to secure victory through genuine engagement with voters.
“Because we’re not taking any vote for granted, Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra, this is our fortress, it’s our fortress. Once you come to Anambra and it’s election day, APGA is everywhere,” Soludo said.
He further explained that his administration’s goal was not just to win the 21 local government areas or the 326 electoral wards but to ensure that APGA dominates all 5,720 polling units across the state.
“Our target this time is not just to win 21 of the 21 local governments or to win the 326 electoral votes, we are targeting the 5,720 polling units. We want an election that is free, fair, transparent, and credible. We don’t want any mago-mago,” he said.
The Governor’s declaration comes as campaigns intensify ahead of the November 8, 2025 governorship election, with opposition parties including the Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party, and All Progressives Congress positioning themselves to challenge APGA’s dominance in the state.
