Senator Felix Ogunwale resigns as asiwaju of Iragbijiland after three decades

The Palace of the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland has formally accepted the resignation of Senator Felix Kola Ogunwale from his prestigious position as the Asiwaju of Iragbijiland.
The development was confirmed in an official statement released by Aderibigbe Samson, head of the Palace Media Office, on behalf of the monarch.
According to the statement, Senator Ogunwale formally communicated his decision to step down in a letter dated March 3, 2026, addressed to His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbijiland.
The distinguished title was originally conferred upon the former senator approximately thirty years ago by the current monarch’s predecessor.
Following the receipt of the resignation, Oba Olabomi graciously accepted the request. The monarch expressed his sincere appreciation to Senator Ogunwale for his years of service, dedicated support, and his numerous contributions to the growth and socio-economic development of Iragbijiland during his tenure as the Asiwaju.
In its closing remarks, the palace emphasized that it remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening traditional leadership and advancing initiatives that foster harmony, growth, and long-term prosperity for the people of Iragbiji.
