The Nigerian Senate will today, conduct the screening of Prof. Joash Amupitan, the nominee of President Bola Tinubu, for the position of Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Mr Bullah Audu Bi-Allah, Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary, Research and Information.

According to the statement, the exercise will take place at the Senate Chamber of the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, with both print and broadcast journalists invited to provide full media coverage.

Television stations have also been urged to transmit the session live to ensure public awareness and transparency.

“The Directorate appreciates your continued cooperation and professional coverage of National Assembly activities,” Bi-Allah said in the statement.

President Tinubu had earlier nominated Prof. Amupitan, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Professor of Law, to head Nigeria’s electoral commission, pending confirmation by the Senate.
