Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on the World Bank Group to deepen its partnership with the state following Lagos’ emergence as Nigeria’s top performer in the 2025 Ease of Doing Business report.

Receiving a high-level delegation led by World Bank Managing Director for Operations Anna Bjerde and IFC Regional Vice President Ethiopia Tafara at Lagos House, Marina, the Governor noted that the state’s leap from 29th to 1st place nationally in just four years was the result of deliberate planning and greater accountability.

During the discussions, Sanwo-Olu highlighted critical sectors for collaboration, including energy, agriculture, tourism, and human capital development.

He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to the THEMES+ agenda, which has driven measurable infrastructure improvements for millions of residents over the last six years.

The Governor emphasized that Lagos is prepared to meet the necessary requirements to attract further support, specifically targeting large-scale projects that directly enhance the quality of life and living standards across the state.
