Robbers attack Ogun Shop, steal ₦200,000 worth of goods

Shop owners and business operators on Ibadan Street, Ile Ise Bus Stop, along the Ajuwon-Akute Road in Ogun State, were thrown into shock after suspected robbers invaded the area.

Sources in the community stated that the suspects, believed to be two in number, carried out the operation in the middle of the night.

One of the victims, Franca Obianke Udeichi, reported that goods worth over ₦200,000 were stolen from her shop, Frankblue Global Concept, where animal products are sold.

“They broke into the shop on the night of March 25, 2026. I discovered it the next morning when I came to work,” she alleged.

Udeichi added that one of the suspects was later caught while attempting to sell the stolen items back to the victims.

“Later that same day, one of the suspects came to our shop to sell some of the items. My husband recognized the products, apprehended him, and reported the matter to the police station. When the boy was interrogated, he claimed his friend asked him to help sell the products. He stated he does not usually join them to rob, but helps in selling stolen items. He even remarked that if he had been part of the break-in, he wouldn’t have been foolish enough to return to the same shop to sell the loot,” she said.

According to Udeichi, the suspect led the police to his accomplice. He revealed the main suspect’s location, leading to an arrest and the recovery of some stolen items, though others had already been sold.

Both suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues.

“The police detained them and asked us to return the next day to make a formal report. We were later told to come back as arrangements are being made to charge them to court,” Udeichi added.

The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command was unavailable for comment when contacted regarding the incident.
