As the political atmosphere intensifies ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections, the incumbent representative for Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency and spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Hon. Akin Rotimi has called for discipline and party cohesion.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the lawmaker cautioned party faithful against allowing the internal selection process to distract from the broader goal of winning the June 20, 2026, Governorship Election in Ekiti state.
Hon. Rotimi emphasized that while primary elections are naturally competitive and at times, divisive, they must be managed with a high sense of responsibility.
He stressed that the primary objective of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains securing a resounding victory for the incumbent, Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
“We must remain united and manage the process ensuring that it does not in any way undermine our collective objective of maintaining a common front,” Rotimi stated.
The lawmaker also called on his supporters and party stakeholders to mirror his commitment to unity.
He noted that he has consistently upheld these values in both word and action, urging others to demonstrate similar levels of dedication to the party’s stability.
“I, as an incumbent Representative, remain fully focused on the task at hand,” he said, citing the “urgent need” to advance community development.
