President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Vice President Kashim Shettima and several other prominent Nigerians on their conferment as Fellows of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES).

The President recognized their significant contributions to the nation’s economic policy and development.

In a statement released yesterday by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu noted that the fellowship, to be conferred on Monday, September 8, is a testament to the recipients’ “exemplary service, intellectual depth, and commitment to advancing Nigeria’s socio-economic transformation.”

The President specifically commended Vice President Shettima for his “visionary leadership, deep insights, and relentless dedication” to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. This includes his work on driving inclusive growth, creating jobs, and ensuring sustainable development.

President Tinubu also praised Dr. Iyabo Masha, a renowned economist who serves as the director of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24). Dr. Masha was also a key member of Nigeria’s Presidential Economic Advisory Council from 2019 to 2022.

The President described their recognition as well-deserved and an inspiration to a new generation of economists and policy experts in the country.

President Tinubu urged the new Fellows to continue using their expertise to support Nigeria’s economic recovery and enhance its global competitiveness.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with experts and institutions to “deliver enduring growth and shared opportunities for all Nigerians.”

The President concluded by stating, “Your passion, innovation, and service to the nation’s economic progress embody the spirit of excellence that our administration celebrates and upholds.”
