The Nigeria Police Force has commenced disciplinary actions against the officer in the social media video showing him in a camouflage uniform displaying conduct grossly inconsistent with professional standards allegedly under the influence of drugs.

Upon the footage coming to light, the Ekiti State Police Command noted that it identified the individual as a Sergeant attached to the Ikole-Ekiti Divisional Police Headquarters. He has been taken into custody to face disciplinary proceedings.

The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has directed that the officer undergo a comprehensive psychological and medical evaluation.

This assessment is a mandatory prerequisite to the formal disciplinary process, ensuring the Force addresses both the conduct violation and any potential underlying health concerns.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu also condemned the behavior captured in the video, labeling it a gross deviation from the discipline and decorum required of all members of the Force.

He reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force commitment to a zero-tolerance policy toward substance abuse and any behavior that undermines the integrity of the uniform or erodes public trust.
